The Rice Advanced Materials Institute (RAMI) at Rice University, located in Houston TX, seeks applications for one tenure-track assistant professor position in the area of advanced energy materials with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025. RAMI, working in conjunction with the Schools of Engineering and Computing and Natural Sciences and the Departments therein, seeks applicants from diverse backgrounds for a tenure-track faculty position in a Department to be determined by the best natural fit and input of the candidate (with the mostly likely Departments being, but not limited to, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Chemistry, and/or Materials Science and NanoEngineering). More experienced senior candidates conducting transformative research projects may also be considered.
In particular, we seek outstanding candidates with research interests in experimental materials science (and related fields) relevant to materials innovations to transform energy storage, conversion/harvesting, efficiency, and beyond. Needs in these areas span all of materials including soft/hard matter, inorganic/organic materials, synthesis, processing, characterization, fabrication, and integration.

The Department of Bioengineering at Rice University, located in Houston, TX, seeks applications for one tenure-track Assistant Professor position with a start date of July 1, 2025. The Department of Bioengineering, a Top 10 ranked department by US News & World Report, is located in the BioScience Research Collaborative building, adjacent to the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical center in the world.
We encourage candidates in the following areas to apply: cancer immunoengineering and immunotherapy, neuroengineering and wearable technology, bioprinting and biomanufacturing, and nucleic acid and drug delivery. The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Rice University is pleased to invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025. We encourage candidates in the area of biomolecular engineering with broad applications in life science, materials, and energy to apply. Areas of potential interest include, but are not limited to, synthetic biology, protein engineering, metabolic engineering, bioelectronics and physical biology. This search is also aligned with departmental priorities in molecular nanotechnology, soft matter and energy, as well as university-wide initiatives such as the Rice Synthetic Biology Institute (RSBI) and the graduate program in Systems, Synthetic and Physical Biology.

Position 1
The Department of Computational Applied Mathematics and Operations Research (CMOR) at Rice University in Houston, Texas, invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor position with a start date of July 1, 2025. The candidate will be expected to:
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in computational applied mathematics and operations research. Conduct high-quality research in operations research and related fields. Related fields include the following: analysis of online algorithms, approximation algorithms, and competitive analysis via mathematical programming; sequential resource allocation models in cloud computing and energy; and the intersection of stochastic control, Markov decision processes, and discrete optimization. Publish high-quality papers in top journals in the related field and present research results at national and international conferences. Mentor and advise graduate and undergraduate students and postdoctoral researchers, to include guiding and supervising their research. Provide service to the department, university, profession, and community. Travel domestically or internationally to present research results up to 10% of time.
