Mehta Rice Engineering Scholars Program
In collaboration with the Bhupat and Jyoti Mehta Family Foundation, Rice University has forged a strategic alliance that fosters scholarship and collaboration between the School of Engineering and Indian universities. The Mehta Rice Engineering Scholars Program facilitates an academic exchange initiative for Indian students and promotes research collaborations among students and faculty members. As part of the scholarship program, Indian students have the opportunity to study at Rice for three to six months in the areas of advanced materials, quantum science, energy and sustainability, data sciences/AI, and biological sciences. Rice-India Institute of Technology Kanpur Collaborative Center
In 2020, Rice University and the India Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) partnered to establish the Rice-IITK Center. This collaboration will focus on the creation of sustainable, long-term solutions that address the ever-increasing global energy demand. It will facilitate greater levels of collaboration, encourage the exchange of knowledge, and welcome diverse perspectives among faculty and students from both institutions and beyond. Learn More

The University of Edinburgh and Rice University have established a strategic partnership to cultivate collaborations in research and education. The Rice-Edinburgh Strategic Collaboration Awards (SCA) support joint initiatives that strengthen the two universities’ strategic priorities as well as develop interdisciplinary research that has academic and societal impact.
