Faculty & Research
In the Classroom, the Lab and the Future
Research in the George R. Brown School of Engineering at Rice Unviersity not only brings to light new discoveries and life to new technologies, it also makes its way to the classrooms, where faculty members incorporate their insights into their teaching. It's through this process that undergraduates make the connections they need to become members of their professors' research teams.
Gradaute students are the backbones of these teams, mentoring undergraduates and making important discoveries through their work. But it is the faculty who establish the direction of the research and write proposals to support the labs' activities and people.
Investing in our Faculty
Rice Engineering is continuing to invest into the school's future by adding 33 new faculty members across our nine departments over the last three years. It is a sign that we're focused on growing the kind of scholarship and research that creates change around the world.
