In the 2022 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Colleges” guidebook, Rice is ranked No. 19 in Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs among schools whose highest engineering degree offered is a doctorate.
Last year, the George R. Brown School of Engineering undergraduate program was also ranked No. 19. The engineering specialties were rated based on the judgment of deans and faculty at peer institutions:
- Biomedical: 11
- Chemical: 25
- Civil: 34
- Computer: 28
- Electrical: 25
- Materials: 20
Overall, Rice University ranked No. 17 among the best national universities in the 2022 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Colleges” list.
