Jada Crawford, who for three years has worked as an associate director of marketing and communications for executive education in the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice, will become director of communications for the George R. Brown School of Engineering, effective Nov. 14.

“Jada brings with her great interpersonal skills. She’s intelligent, positive, empathetic and clearly a team player,” said Luay Nakhleh, the William and Stephanie Sick Dean of Engineering.

“Jada will play the same role as her predecessors in terms of duties and responsibilities. She will work closely with the departments and the professional master’s degree team and move us toward a single school-wide marketing and communications team. Jada has the leadership skills to make this happen.”

Before joining Rice, Crawford had almost 20 years of marketing experience in diverse industries, including financial services, healthcare, and oil and gas. She earned M.S. and B.A. degrees from the Manship School of Mass Communication at Louisiana State University.

“I want to take this opportunity,” Nakhleh said, “to thank Carl Apple for leading the team for several years and Mike Andrick, who took on the interim role after Carl’s departure and on such a short notice.”
