Engineering entrepreneurship at Rice is fueled by innovative design, an emphasis on communicating ideas, and a university wide culture of nurturing students' entrepreneurial drive.
Students who wish to turn their ideas into innovations have the resources of Rice's Entrepreneurship Initiative, OwlSpark—Rice's startup incubator, the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship, and the Rice Business Plan Competition, the largest and richest in the world, to name a few. The Lilie New Entrepreneurs Grant offers entering students $10,000 grants to fund startup ideas. Elevator pitch competitions on the undergraduate and graduate levels help students hone their communication skills. Design competitions help students refine their ideas and bring them closer to market.
