The Ken Kennedy Institute’s 14th annual Oil & Gas High Performance Computing Conference will be held March 5, virtually and free of charge.
“The conference has become a premier place to bring awareness to the computing and technology challenges in the energy industry. As data grows and algorithms advance, high-performance computing is of central importance to finding solutions to many of the world’s problem,” said Angela Wilkins, executive director of the Institute.
Registration is free and highlights include seven keynote presentations. Their talks will be complemented by pre-recorded technical presentations and student posters available for viewing starting on March 3.
Last year’s conference, held shortly before the start of the COVID-19 lockdown, drew more than 515 leaders from the oil and gas industry, the high-performance computing and information technology industries, academics and others.
“We look forward to sharing and learning about how computational science has unlocked value in our respective areas. We’ll discuss recent accomplishments and challenges, and get a glimpse into the future of computational science with an industry focus,” said Charlie Fazzino, explore and assess opportunities IT manager for ExxonMobil’s Technical Computing Company.
Fazzino will moderate the conference’s second panel, “How Computational Science and New Leadership HPC Systems are Changing Science and Engineering.”
Post-conference workshops are scheduled for March 12, 19, and 26, and are available to all attendees.
