Aditya D. Mohite will join the George R. Brown School of Engineering at Rice University as an associate professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering (CHBE), beginning July 1.
Mohite has worked as a staff scientist at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) since 2010, when he started as a post-doctoral fellow in its Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies. In 2012 he helped organize the Light-to-Energy Team and served as its principle investigator from the Materials Synthesis and Integrated Devices group.
The Resnick Institute at Caltech awarded Mohite its Resonate Award, given for achievements in renewable energy and sustainability-focused science and technology.
Mohite received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Louisville in 2007. From the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in India, he earned a B.S. in physics in 1999 and an M.S. in solid state physics in 2001. He did post-doctoral work at Rice in 2009 with Pulickel Ajayan, the Benjamin M. and Mary Greenwood Anderson Professor of Engineering and chair of MSNE.
