COVID-19 has changed much about the Rice Engineering student experience. Finding ways to teach, learn, conduct research, create and innovate, and have fun together in physically distanced ways have been a challenge for us all. Faculty, staff and especially our students are reimagining approaches to overcome these challenges in exciting ways. We invite you to explore our students' experiences in these challenging times and what you can expect when you come to Rice University.
The Oshman Engineering Design Kitchen (OEDK) is the nerve center of the design experience at Rice University. See how we’ve adapted to the pandemic by following these strict safety guidelines.

Adapting Our Classes
Whether it’s in-person classes, socially-distanced lab work or remote learning, Rice Engineering faculty and staff are adjusting their instruction methods to provide a rich but safe learning experience, full of opportunity.
We reimagined the orientation by creating a virtual experience that gives first-year students a snapshot of life in the School of Engineering.
