Tony Mikos, J.W. Cox Professor in Bioengineering, and UT-Houston surgeon Mark Wong will receive $2 million over the next five years for research on craniofacial reconstruction.

Scientists and scholars from all non-European countries, who completed their doctorates less than twelve years ago, who are internationally recognised for their achievements in the field of applied research, and who in future are expected to continue producing cutting-edge achievements which will have a seminal influence on their discipline beyond their immediate field of work, are eligible to be nominated for a Fraunhofer-Bessel Research Award.

Scientists and scholars, internationally renowned in their field, who completed their doctorates less than twelve years ago and who in future are expected to continue producing cutting-edge achievements which will have a seminal influence on their discipline beyond their immediate field of work, are eligible to be nominated for a Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award.

Outstanding scientists and scholars from abroad whose fundamental discoveries, new theories, or insights have had a significant impact on their own discipline and who are expected to continue producing cutting-edge achievements in future are eligible to be nominated for a Helmholtz-Humboldt Research Award provided that they work in fields falling within the remit of research at Helmholtz Centres.

Outstanding scientists and scholars from all disciplines from abroad whose fundamental discoveries, new theories, or insights have had a significant impact on their own discipline and who are expected to continue producing cutting-edge achievements in future are eligible to be nominated for a Humboldt Research Award.

HACU applauds your initiative in searching for a scholarship! We hope that we will be able to assist you in defraying some of your college expenditures. Each scholarship has specific criteria, so please review each one carefully. However, all scholarship recipients MUST meet all of the following criteria: demonstrating financial need, meet the specified criteria for the scholarship, and attend a HACU member institution.

The Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship for New American supports thirty individuals a year for up to two years of graduate study in any subject anywhere in the United State. Students already in graduate school are eligible, though not poast their second year.

Submit an application if you are a researcher from abroad with above average qualifications, at the beginning of your academic career and only completed your doctorate in the last four years. A Humboldt Research Fellowship for postdoctoral researchers allows you to carry out a long-term research project (6-24 months) you have selected yourself in cooperation with an academic host you have selected yourself at a research institution in Germany.

The program is designed to significantly increase the involvement of creative and highly trained scientists and engineers from academia and industry to scientific and technical areas of interest and relevance to the Navy.
